Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) Assisted Wireless Coverage Extension: RIS Orientation and Location Optimization

نویسندگان

چکیده

Recently, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) have attracted a lot of attention due to their capability extending cell coverage by reflecting signals toward the receiver. In this letter, we analyze downlink RIS-assisted network with one base station (BS) and user equipment (UE). Since RIS orientation horizontal distance between BS significant influence on coverage, formulate an placement optimization problem maximize optimizing distance. To solve formulated problem, maximization algorithm (CMA) is proposed, where closed-form optimal obtained. Numerical results verify our analysis.
